NY-22 Minute: Tenney on Trump- "Most Succcessful Presidency in Modern History" By Luke Perry
Representative Claudia Tenney praised Donald Trump and the Trump presidency this morning on Talk of the Town WUTQ in Utica. (full interview here)
The comments came after co-host Rocco LaDuca asked if President Trump was going to visit the Mohawk Valley. (5:00 mark) “He talks about it every time he sees me,” Tenney replied, “‘I’m coming there. We’re gonna be there for ya.” Tenney said she is working on having both President Trump and Melania Trump visit.
Co-host Mark Wolber asked the First Lady visit the show if she comes to town. “I’d love to have the president walk in on your show to be honest,” Tenney said. “He’s a lot of fun” and “really listens.” (6:37 mark)
Wolber commented that Trump couldn’t be so successful in business and be a billionaire if he didn’t know what he was doing and have a good idea how to accomplish things. Tenney agreed.
The "modern presidency" is typically understood as beginning with Franklin Roosevelt. Roosevelt revolutionized the office and presided over the most significant expansion of presidential power.
Tenney’s first term in Congress has mirrored Trump in policy, strategy, and style. “I think Heritage," Tenney explained, "or one of these groups came up and said that over 60 percent of his agenda has been accomplished in a year and half, less than a year and a half. That’s amazing. That’s just amazing.”
Political Scientists concluded earlier this year that President Trump ranked last in “presidential greatness” among all presidents. Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, and Franklin Roosevelt were atop the list.
The 170 scholars who participated in the study were from the “Presidents and Executive Politics Section” of the American Political Science Association, the premier professional organization in the field.
