Luke Perry Joins Panel of Ivory Tower on WCNY
This week Luke Perry, Director of the Utica College Center of Public Affairs and Election Research, joined the panel of Ivory Tower, a “weekly round-table discussion that focuses on news and events from the perspective of academicians from across Central New York.” The program is hosted by David Chanatry, Professor of Journalism at Utica College, and Director of the New York Reporting Project.
Each week panelists focus on three current events. Last night’s episode (watch here) included Tim Byrnes from Colgate University and Kristi Andersen from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.
The panel addressed three questions:
1. Was The New York Times op-ed by John Paul Stevens calling for the repeal of the Second Amendment helpful to current national debates about gun policy?
2. Will the recent exile of Russian diplomats by the U.S. and Western allies influence the behavior of Vladimir Putin?
3. Should citizenship once again be part of the U.S. census?
Ivory Tower airs every Friday at 8pm on WCNY.
