NY-22 Minute: Tenney Believes "Deep State" Responsible for Ben Carson's Office Furniture By Luke Perry

NY-22 Minute: Tenney Believes "Deep State" Responsible for Ben Carson's Office Furniture By Luke Perry

This morning on Talk of the Town (100.7 FM in Utica)  Representative Tenney expressed her belief the “deep state” is responsible for Ben Carson's office dining set for private lunches costing $31,000. Carson is Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The purchase has generated national controversy.

“Somebody in the deep state” ordered the furniture, Tenney stated, not one of Carson’s staff. Tenney claimed that Carson tried to undo the order, but it was hard to do because of the procurement process. "It's a bigger problem sending it back than it is to take it,” Tenney explained, while acknowledging "I think they are sending that table back."

Representative Tenney claimed the president is trying to cut through procurement protocols and bureaucracy in general. “I blame this directly on the legal system and our lawyers,” Tenney stated. According to Tenney, people are too risk-averse and worried about getting sued, effecting everything we do. Tenney is a lawyer herself.

"I know that Ben Carson did not order that table," Tenney reiterated. "It has nothing to do with him. He comes from poverty and isn't a guy who would be that lavish."

Co-host Rocco LaDucaraised Secretary Carson’s recent Congressional testimony that he was not pleased with the price, left the matter to his wife, and was later surprised by the $31,000 table being purchased.

Carson also testified the motivation for the new dining set was danger related to the existing one. “People are being stuck by nails,” Carson explained, “a chair collapsed with somebody sitting in it, it’s 50 years old.”

Ben Carson endorsed Claudia Tenney during her 2016 House campaign. Here is Carson's full statement:

Today, I am proud to endorse Claudia Tenney for Congress. And I hope you’ll stand with me by donating today.

This race is critical. The Democrats have identified this seat as a top target. If you don’t join me in supporting Claudia Tenney right now, we could be handing control of Congress back to Nancy Pelosi and her liberal allies.

Here’s why I support Claudia: she’s a true conservative patriot that will stand up for our constitution, our faith, and our core values.

As a single mom who raised her son up to attend the U.S. Naval Academy and that now serves as a first lieutenant in the Marine Corps., Claudia understands firsthand the importance of protecting our troops.

As a local business owner and attorney, she knows how to balance budgets and create jobs. And as a Christian conservative, she puts traditional family values first.

Claudia is a Washington outsider like myself, and as such, won’t be beholden to DC lobbyists and special interests.

Claudia will fight for the people New York’s 22nd District. Consistently ranked as the top conservative legislator in New York, she’s got a proven record of working for New York families, voting to cut taxes and standing as a Pro-Life champion.

I hope you’ll join me in standing with Claudia, right now: https://secure.claudiaforcongress.com/carsonendorsement

God Bless,

Dr. Ben Carson
