Trump's Remarkable Week By John Zogby
So I have this guy in class who is totally disruptive. He picks fights with fellow students, harasses women, has caused some to actually drop out of class, and talks over anyone who is trying to perform well.
Yet half of the class loves him, enjoys seeing break all the rules, and he gets solid grades. No one, including me, knows what he will do next -- but somehow he succeeds.
Let's compare this student to Donald Trump. The president has consolidated his base, although he is thus far also energizing the Democratic base as well. The Democrats had a good week in recent primaries in good part due to extra voters coming out to make a statement against the president.
He has just violating every rule imaginable in the world of trade and diplomacy by enraging longtime U.S. allies at the G-7 Summit in Quebec by pushing tariffs and calling for the reentry of Russia, kicked out of the economic club it annexed Ukraine’s Crimea region. And he made sure to stay only so long as it took him to drop his bombshell and leave. Very insulting.
And now he embarks on a summit with Kim Jong Un and, again contrary to all the rules of engagement, none of us has a clue as to what might happen.
